An inmate who walked away from a state prison in Folsom this morning has been captured in Carmichael, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.
Stephen Koble, 19, a convicted burglar from Yolo County, was arrested by Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies in the 4000 block of Manzanita Avenue shortly after 5 p.m., said sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos.
Koble had been reported missing from an unfenced minimum custody facility at California State Prison, Sacramento, a prison spokesman said this morning. He apparently escaped between 5:43 a.m. and 7 a.m.
In the afternoon, sheriff's officials received a report of a sighting of Koble, Ramos said.
Patrol and K-9 units responded to the area and spent the next 90 minutes tracking Koble with the help of citizens who had noticed him walking around shirtless and with distinctive tattoos, Ramos said.
Deputies caught up with Koble about 5 p.m. and arrested him without incident, Ramos said. He will be returned to the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
