A man serving life for the sexual assault and murder of an 8-year-old Sacramento County girl in 1967 is due a parole hearing next month.
Willie Curtis Miller, now 84, killed Jeannie Abron in August more than 43 years ago and dumped her nude body in Dry Creek, near the Rio Linda High School track, The Bee reported.
Her body was found four days later.
The girl's mother, who knew Miller, gave him permission to take the girl from her home to the supermarket to buy soda pop for her five children.
Witnesses saw Miller's car near where the girl's body was found.
Miller has been denied paroles going back to at least 1979.
Miller's hearing will be April 5 at the California Men's Colony, San Luis Obispo, where he is incarcerated.
