Michael Lyon's legal woes continue to mount, with two more women claiming in civil court that the former real estate executive secretly videotaped them in bathrooms of his homes.
The lawsuit filed this morning replaces one filed last October on behalf of a former nanny, who was about 16 at the time she was allegedly videotaped, and a family friend who was 18 at the time he allegedly was recorded.
The new suit adds another nanny who was in her 20s when the alleged videotaping occurred in 2006. And it adds a longtime friend of Lyon's ex-wife, Kimarie "Kim" Lyon, who allegedly was taped around 1990.
Sacramento attorney Robert Zimmerman, who filed the suit, said three different videos of Kim Lyon's friend using the household bathroom were condensed into one film.
None of the alleged victims are identified in the suit, which was filed in Sacramento Superior Court this morning and seeks damages for invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
"Plaintiffs, like all members of society, have a legally protected privacy interest in the conduct of their personal activities without observation, intrusion or interference," according to the suit, which calls Lyon's alleged videotaping an "egregious breach of societal norms."
Lyon's civil attorney, Rudy Nolen, could not be reached for comment today.
The allegations are the latest in a series of monumental setbacks for the once prominent businessman, who last week pleaded guilty to four felony counts of electronic eavesdropping, charges that stem from him secretly recording his interactions with four prostitutes.
Lyon was sentenced to a year in custody set to begin May 9. His attorney is hoping Lyon will be allowed to serve the sentence under house arrest in his Carmichael home, where he would be monitored by an electronic tracking device and subject to strict limits on his movements.
But the Sacramento district attorney's office has recommended jail time for Lyon. Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones has said he plans to make the decision personally.
