Woodland detectives this morning are looking for three Hispanic men in their mid-20s with medium builds as suspects in a deadly shooting of a man outside a downtown bar early Sunday.
Lt. Anthony Cucchi said detectives believe a fight at closing time at La Finca de Rivera restaurant in the 500 block of Bush Street may have led to the shooting, which left one man dead and another wounded.
At about 2 a.m., callers reported hearing several gunshots. Responding officers found one man on the sidewalk bleeding heavily from gunshot wounds.
He died at the scene, according to a police department news release. Woodland police identified him as Gabriel Villareal-Ibarra, 30, of Williams.
A second victim was identified as Julio Artista-Rosales, 27, of Yuba City. He was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The Yolo County Coroner reported that an autopsy performed Monday found that Ibarra died after being shot in the chest and back.
Police released descriptions of the three suspects: The first wore a pink shirt and blue pants, the second, dressed in dark clothing, had a dark complexion and facial blemishes and the third was wearing a light-colored shirt. He was light-skinned and had green eyes.
Detectives are searching for a 2004 to 2010 Ford F-150 four-door pickup, either silver or gray, that may be connected to the killing.
