Woodland police say they are still trying to piece together events that led to a deadly shooting of a 30-year-old man outside a downtown bar early Sunday.
It was the city's first homicide of 2011.
Lt. Anthony Cucchi said detectives believe a fight at closing time at La Finca de Rivera restaurant in the 500 Block of Bush Street may have led to the shooting, which left one man dead and another wounded.
At about 2 a.m., callers reported hearing several gunshots. Responding officers found one man on the sidewalk bleeding heavily from gunshot wounds.
He died at the scene, according to a police department news release. Yolo County Chief Deputy Coroner Robert LaBrash identified him as Gabriel Villareal Ibarra.
Later, another victim with gunshot wounds showed up at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, about an hour's drive northeast of Woodland.
His injuries were not life threatening, police said.
LaBrash said an autopsy performed Monday found that Ibarra died after being shot in the chest and back.
Police have not released a description of possible suspects or a getaway vehicle.
