The Sacramento Police Department asks the community's help in identifying two people sought in connection with a residential burglary and vehicle theft that occurred last month.
Between 7:30 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. March 14, someone burglarized a home in the 8200 block of Grandstaff Drive in the south Sacramento area. The intruders stole personal items, including a spare key to a vehicle that was not at the home at the time of the burglary.
At 10:30 p.m. March 18, the victim discovered that his vehicle had been stolen. Because there were no signs of forced entry, detectives to believe that the spare key, stolen during the burglary, was used to steal the vehicle, according to a Police Department news release.
Police have released photos taken at 6:30 p.m. March 19, just after the suspects were seen exiting the stolen vehicle, which was recovered.
The suspects are described as male African American juveniles. One was wearing a multicolored jacket and the other was wearing a gray jacket.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357, or text a tip to 274637. Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
