Sacramento police said today that have arrested a suspected Natomas burglar with the help of home surveillance footage.
The suspect's image, left, was captured by a home surveillance camera when he allegedly attempted to burglarize a home near Natomas Boulevard and Club Center Drive on the afternoon of Dec. 20, 2010, according to a Sacramento Police Department news release.
The suspect is believed to have knocked on the front door of the home and, when there was no answer, gone around to the back of the home and attempted to force entry, police reported. He then fled when the alarm activated.
Police released the suspect's surveillance photo on Dec. 29 and received a community tip that helped them identify the suspect, according to the release.
Raymond Newcomb, Jr., below, 23, was arrested on April 7 in connection with the attempted burglary, police said. Police said officers believe he may be responsible for five burglaries in Natomas, the release states.
Newcomb was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on April 7 on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary, and is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail, online jail booking logs show.
