The department's special investigations unit, working in plainclothes, covered the entire community. The special enforcement funding was provided by a grant from California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.

Sgt. Jason Browning also stated in a news release that additional officers were working to find and arrest drug and alcohol impaired drivers. Those officers targeting impaired driving arrested two men.
One was a 57-year-old Folsom man found passed out in his car in the turn lane from Oak Avenue Parkway at East Bidwell Street.
The other was a 26-year-old man from El Dorado Hills who was involved in a crash on the Folsom Lake Crossing.
Funding for the drunken driving crackdown was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
