Roseville police will continue their investigation Tuesday into the death of a 44-year-old man who was found shot in an office park on Industrial Avenue this afternoon.
Sgt. Daniel Wanamaker said police received a report of a disturbance at 3:19 p.m. While officers were en route they were told that gunshots had been heard coming from the offices of Skim X, an extreme sports company in the 8200 block of Industrial Avenue.
Wanamaker said officers established a perimeter around the building at the rear of the business park. Armed with shields and rifles, they entered the warehouse-style building at 3:55 p.m. and found Christopher Dale Northam dead with at least one gunshot wound.
The coroner and crime scene investigators were summoned, and could be seen entering and exiting the building in white suits.
Wanamaker said the death of the business owner is being investigated as a homicide, Roseville's first this year.
He said details about the crime scene were not being released today so as not to jeopardize the investigation.
Wanamaker described the inside of the building as fairly open and said it was being outfitted as an indoor skate park. It had not yet opened for business.
Skate ramps and wooden frames were lined up outside the building.
Wanamaker said the people who reported the disturbance were being interviewed. He said police would remain on the scene through the night and that crime scene investigators would resume work Tuesday.
