Three people were arrested today after a clerk at a Sutter County market was robbed at gunpoint.
The robbery occurred about 3:20 a.m. at Sutter Food and Gas, 7505 Highway 20, in the community of Sutter, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
The clerk reported that two people entered the store. One had a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.
The clerk handed over the money, and the two individuals left the store, got into a red Honda, and headed southbound on Acacia Avenue from Highway 20.
Sutter County sheriff's deputies located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Franklin Avenue at Littlejohn Road in Yuba City, and arrested three men.
Booked into Sutter County Jail were David Neal, 21, or Oroville; Gary Paradis, 18, and John spears, 20, both of Marysville.
Neal was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and carrying a concealed weapon. Paradis was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, burglary and conspiracy, and Spears, on suspicion of armed robbery and conspiracy.
The store clerk was not injured.
Officials said the investigation in continuing and the case has been linked to other robberies in the area.
