West Sacramento police said they have arrested two men suspected of stealing a couple thousand gallons of diesel fuel.
The total take allegedly taken by the two Sacramento men is 2,297 gallons worth nearly $10,000. The two men arrested on suspicion of pumping fuel into a big tank inside their van: J-Uan Parker, 18, and Raynard Dotes, Jr., 19.
Police said a witness saw a van at fuel pumps in the 1200 block of Cebrian Street in West Sacramento on May 7. The witness said a hose was suspiciously going from the pump to the bottom of the van.
Officers arrived and stopped Dotes' and Parker's van leaving the pumps. Police said they found two fuel containers containing 497 gallons of diesel fuel and a pump inside the Ford Econoline van.
Both of the men, who have since been released on bail, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and grand theft. On Thursday, even more diesel fuel was found, police said.
Detectives on Thursday served a search warrant at property located in the 600 block of Galveston Street in West Sacramento, turning up 1,800 more gallons of diesel. They suspect the new find of diesel was also stolen by Dotes and Parker.
