A Modesto family is seeking the public's help in locating a child's walker they left in Sacramento.
After eating lunch Tuesday with his family at the In-N-Out Burger in Natomas, an 11-year-old boy with cerebral palsy left his walker outside the burger joint because he could not get it past some hedges, said police Sgt. Norm Leong.
As they rushed to get out of the rain, the boy's parents helped him in the car. Each parent thinking the other had grabbed the walker, they drove off, not realizing they had left the walker behind. They realized it was missing when they reached Chico, Leong said.
After the family contacted police, a student trainee searched the area of the In-N-Out but was not able to find the walker. The family and the Police Department are asking for the public's help.
The walker is worth about $1,000, the family told police. The royal blue walker is manufactured by Otto Bock, the brand is Nurmi Neo and it has a black cushioned flip seat, Leong said.
Anyone who finds the walker is asked to call the Police Department's non-emergency line, (916) 264-5471, or bring it to police headquarters, 5770 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento.
