July 4 street closures set for fireworks show at Sunrise Mall

The Citrus Heights Police Department warns motorists to expect traffic congestion in and around Sunrise Mall on Monday night due to the Fourth of July fireworks show at the mall.

The event will start about 6 p.m. and conclude around 10 p.m. Several road closures will be in effect between 9 and 11 p.m. along with recommended detours:

• Eastbound Greenback Lane will be closed at Birdcage Street. Eastbound and westbound motorists are advised to use Madison Avenue.

• Westbound Greenback Lane will be closed at Fair Oaks Boulevard. Traffic will be detoured to northbound Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue.
• Northbound Sunrise Boulevard will be closed at Madison Avenue, and southbound Sunrise will be closed at Greenback Lane. Motorists are advised to use San Juan Avenue.

Police are urging people who are not attending the Fourth of July event to avoid the Sunrise Mall area during the evening hour and to use alternative routes.
