The Rocklin Police Department has arrested a second person and is looking for a third in connection with a shooting early Sunday at the intersection of Sunset and Blue Oaks boulevards.
Police say the shooting occurred at 1:57 a.m. and the victim drove himself to Sutter-Roseville Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the neck.
Jamie Payton, 28, of Weimar was arrested 5:30 p.m. Sunday and booked into Placer County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a controlled substance. Detectives seized two vehicles related to the shooting and processed them for evidence, according to a Police Department news release.
With the assistance of the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the Placer County Special Investigations Unit, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Detail and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, a search warrant was served Tuesday at two locations -- one on Cherrelyn Way and the other on Dry Creek Road in Sacramento County. Norris was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery. Police said he also was wanted by the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for being a parolee at large.![]()
Rocklin police also are seeking David Ray Friedman (lower left), 24, of Rio Linda. He is described as white, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Police say he also is a parolee and suspect in the shooting, and is considered armed and dangerous.
