Citrus Heights police announced today that they have shut down the Creative Frontiers School at 6446 Sylvan Road because of an ongoing criminal investigation by the Police Department and an administrative investigation by the California Department of Social Services regarding multiple allegations of child molestation.

To date, detectives have identified multiple victims with allegations spanning at least 15 years, according to a Police Department news release. The focus of the investigation is the owner, Principal Robert B. Adams, the release stated. Police said no criminal charges are pending against Adams, and he is not in police custody at this time.

"Our primary concern is for the safety of the children. We took action today to to ensure than no children are in danger and that they are home safe with their families," said Officer Bryan Fritsch of the Citrus Heights Police Department.

All the alleged victims who have come forward are current or former students of Creative Frontiers School.

The school's care license and general business licenses have been suspended pending final administrative decisions by the Department of Social Services and the city of Citrus Heights. Citrus Heights police detectives also served a search warrant on the property as part of the investigation.

The Police Department was scheduled to hold a private informational meeting late this afternoon for the parents of any Creative Frontiers student, past or present, at the Citrus Heights Community Center. The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy of Sacramento also was expected to be available as a resource for families and children.

Police said they would be available to provide additional information at 5 p.m. the Citrus Heights City Council Chambers, 7117 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights.

Detectives are seeking any information regarding victims that have yet to come forward or information regarding unlawful activity at the school. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Joe Rangel at (916) 727-5849 or the crime tip line at (916) 727-5524.

Q: What happened with the case regarding Marc McCormick? He was accused of videotaping a woman in her home and was arrested. He lives in my neighborhood and I see him all the time. Were charges dropped?

A: According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, misdemeanor charges have been filed against Mark William McCormick, alleging that he used a camcorder or other instrument to view an individual in a place where there was an expectation of privacy, trespassing and peeping.

His next court date is June 4.

According to Sacramento police logs, McCormick, 40, was arrested March 8 after the victim reported that a friend had entered her home without her knowledge to secretly videotape her.
