Two Sacramento residents were severely injured in a three-car collision Sunday afternoon in Davis.
Police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of B Street and Russell Boulevard at 2:35 p.m. Based on an initial investigation, police said they determined that a Toyota Sienna minivan, driven by Bailey Yee, 22, of Davis, went into the right-turn lane, traveled through a stop sign and then directly into the north and southbound traffic lanes of B Street. The Sienna collided with a Toyota Rav4, which was traveling northbound on B Street.
The Rav4, driven by Lue Moua, 22, of Sacramento, overturned on impact and Moua and his female passenger, Jih Lee, 23, also of Sacramento, were severely injured, according to a Police Department news release.
The Toyota Sienna continued traveling across B Street and crashed into a Subaru Legacy that was traveling southbound on B Street, approaching Fifth Street. The Subaru was driven by Veronica Foster, 39, of Davis.
Moua and Lee were extricated from their vehicle by the Davis Fire Department and transported to UC Davis Medical Center. A Medical Center spokeswoman said Lee was listed in critical condition this afternoon and Moua, in good condition.
None of the other parties complained of injuries or requested medical attention, police said.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Police Department's major accident investigation team was called in to determine the cause of the collision and whether any of the parties involved will be cited and charged with a criminal offense, according to the news release.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.
