Man dies after being hit by RV in Rocklin

By Dale Kasler

A man was struck and killed by a recreational vehicle this afternoon on Highway 65 near Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin.

Sgt. Jeff Swearingen of the Placer County Sheriff's department said the man might have encountered trouble with his vehicle, which was found with the hood up along the side of the road.

"At some point he ended up in the traffic lanes and was struck," Swearingen said.

Southbound traffic was temporarily halted while the body was removed from beneath the RV, he said.

Swearingen said the sheriff's office and the California Highway Patrol were continuing to investigate the 2 p.m. incident.

Identification of the dead man was withheld pending notification of family.
