Parties sought in reported Saturday night shooting in Olivehurst

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is investigating a report of a possible shooting Saturday night in Olivehurst.

Deputies responded to the 1800 block of 11th Avenue just before 8 p.m. after receiving calls about a shooting. When they arrived, deputies were unable to locate anyone involved in the incident. They spoke to several witnesses, however, who reported an argument between a pedestrian and occupants of a passing vehicle. The confrontation led to a possible exchange of gunfire, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

Witnesses told deputies that the vehicle drove away from the area, but they were unsure where the pedestrian went.

The pedestrian was described as a man 20 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and wearing dark clothing. The vehicle involved was described as a dark-colored sedan.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff's Department at (530) 749-7777.
