Missing 11-year-old boy found safe near American River College

By Carlos Alcalá

An 11-year-old boy missing for more than 5 hours overnight was found before 9 a.m. this morning, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials reported.

Octavio Orozco went missing from his apartment on Little Oak Lane near American River College at about 3 a.m.

Because he is under 12, officials considered him at risk and established a command center near the college.

A family member found Octavio safe, walking down the street as officials established a grid search of the area.

The boy is the second successful missing child search in the area in three days.

Davyn Wilkison, a 3-year-old, was missing overnight in wooded Nevada County and was found Thursday morning.
