The Sacramento Police Department seeks the community's help locating a suspect in the fatal shooting March 8 of Mark Colquitt.
Police responded about 5:45 a.m. that day to reports of gunshots near 21st Avenue and Franklin Boulevard. They found Colquitt, 48, who had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.
Detectives have identified Augustine Aranda, 28, as the suspect in the shooting, according to a Police Department news release. He is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.![]()
On March 10, Sacramento police ,with the assistance of the Citrus Heights Police Department, searched a house in the 7500 block of St. Philomena Way in Citrus Heights, but did not locate Aranda. Investigators, however, believe he is still in the Sacramento region and hope someone will call with information regarding his whereabouts.
