A man alleged to be a validated gang member has pleaded guilty to selling crack cocaine.
Jeffrey Conner, 37, of Sacramento entered his plea Tuesday, a day before the scheduled start of his jury trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 13.
Court documents said that Conner is a validated member of the Oak Park Bloods street gang, according to a press release from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District. The release notes that Conner has a prior conviction for assault with a firearm.
On Oct. 19, officers conducted a buy of seven ounces of crack cocaine from Conner in the Oak Park neighborhood, according to the release. Conner charged $3,200 and later admitted to law enforcement that he made a little less than $1,000 on the drug deal, according to prosecutors.
