Sacramento Federal Bureau of Investigation officials re-released surveillance photos of a bank robber today in hopes more exposure would help them identify the suspect.
Officials expressed frustration that they have not been able to identify the suspect despite the clarity of images, featured above, captured during the Jan. 31 robbery of a Bank of America on Watt Avenue.
During the robbery, the unknown man presented a note to a teller demanding money. The teller initially thought the note was a joke, but then handed the man a "wad of cash," according to the FBI.
The man then fled. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head and a dark jacket over a sweatshirt. He is described as a white man, 55 to 60 years old, 5 feet and 5 or 6 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds. Witnesses described him as "skinny" and said he appeared to have knowledge of banking procedures, the FBI said.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI's Sacramento office at (916) 481-9110, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
