Grab-and-go robber holds up Fair Oaks Boulevard bank

Bank of the West.JPGA robber in his 50s grabbed cash from a teller this morning and fled a Fair Oaks Boulevard bank.

The robber entered the Bank of the West, 2569 Fair Oaks Blvd., near Fulton Avenue, about 9:15 a.m. Monday and walked up to a teller window. He then grabbed a wad of cash that a teller was counting and took off.

"This is a robbery," he said. "If you move or do anything I will shoot you."

Bank employees didn't see a weapon.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds and having a gray goatee. He was carrying a manila envelope.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (916) 481-9110 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357.
