A man who provided private music instruction to children in the Sacramento area has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
Robert Michael Broadfoot (pictured), 29, was taken into custody this morning by detectives assigned to the Sacramento Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
In August, Broadfoot was identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Miami as someone who had received child pornography over the internet, according a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department news release.
A federal search warrant of his residence was later obtained, and his computer was seized during a search of his home Oct. 11. During the forensic examination of Broadfoot's computer, investigators found hundreds of photographs and videos depicting child pornography, including some featuring girls as young as 8 years old, officials said.
Investigators also learned that Broadfoot provided private music instruction at children's homes in the local area.
He was booked into Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
Anyone with information regarding Broadfoot is asked to call the task force at (916) 874-3000.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is made up of federal, state and local law enforcement investigators and is managed by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
