Update: Missing North Sacramento woman found safe

A 71-year-old woman who had been reported missing from her board and care home in North Sacramento has been found safe.

Sacramento police received a call about 7 p.m. from a local hospital advising that Sandra Sunada (pictured) had been located.

Police said Sunada walked away from her board and care home in the 1000 block of Acacia Avenue about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. She was en route to a fast food restaurant on Marysville Boulevard but did not return.Sandra Sunada.jpg

Police said Sunada suffers from dementia, bipolar disorder and seizures.

She was found at the Wendy's restaurant near Watt Avenue and Longview Drive earlier this evening. A citizen at the restaurant called for an ambulance because Sunada appeared confused and incoherent, according to a Police Department news release.

Sunada was transported to a hospital where she was found to be in good health.
