Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for a man who robbed a bank just before noon today on Foothills Boulevard in Roseville.
Officers were called to River City Bank, 4001 Foothills Blvd., at 11:52 a.m. regarding a robbery in which a man approached a bank employee and gave her a note demanding money, according to a Roseville Police Department news release. The robber implied that he had a gun, but police said no weapons were seen.
The bank employee gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash, then left. No injuries were reported.
The man (pictured) was described as African American, 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall and heavyset. He wore a red cap under a black hooded sweatshirt, a black letterman's-style jacket with white trim, dark-colored pants, and black and white athletic shoes.
The man was seen getting into a pickup driven by another man. The pickup was described as a white, very clean newer model, similar to a Chevy or Dodge.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916) 783-7867. Tips also can be submitted anonymously through the Police Department's website at www.roseville.ca.us/police -- select "Submit a Tip" form the menu on the side -- or from a mobile phone by texting 274637 and starting the text with the word "Roseville." Those providing tips can remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
