Sacramento County Sheriff's Homicide detectives have arrested a 42-year-old suspect in connection with the stabbing death of a woman found last week in her Foothill Farms apartment.
Authorities today said Delina Lynn Williams, 42, was taken into custody Saturday about 9 p.m. and is being held without bail in the County Jail for investigation of murder.
The body of 27-year-old Jessica Brock was found in her Emerald Oaks apartment in the 5100 block of Andrea Boulevard at 10 a.m. Wednesday by her mother and her mother's boyfriend, who were concerned when they had not heard from her. A complex manager called deputies.
Detectives believe that Williams, an acquaintance of the victim, attacked Brock during an argument, Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said. He said Brock suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper body.
Investigators reported that the fatal assault took place about a week before Brock's body was discovered.
The victim's mother and boyfriend had visited the apartment last weekend but left because her car was not nearby and they believed she was out.
By Wednesday, when they still had not heard from Brock, they returned to the apartment and found the unit unlocked.
Williams' car later was found outside Sacramento County, and Ramos said deputies are investigating how it ended up there.
