Public's help sought to find missing Yuba County man

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department seeks the public's help in finding a foothills resident who has been missing for nearly a week.

Leslie Scott Jones, 44, of Browns Valley was last seen leaving his home on foot about 2 p.m. Friday. He was believed to be heading to the city of Marysville, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Officials said he frequently hitchhikes in the Yuba-Sutter area.

Jones is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has straight, collar-length blond hair, a thin mustache and a goatee.

Anyone with information regarding Jones or his whereabouts is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff's Department at (530) 749-7777.
