Sacramento authorities report no major problems despite mall crowds seeking Air Jordan shoes

The release of Nike's new Air Jordan basketball shoes wreaked havoc on malls across the country this morning - but Sacramento shoppers appear to have been more civil.

Thousands of shoppers lined up outside malls across the region for the latest release of the shoes, which have a cult following. As many as 2,000 people showed up at Arden Fair mall alone.

However, no major problems were reported at Downtown Plaza, Arden Fair or Sunrise Mall, according to police.

At Sunrise Mall in particular, the only real disturbance involved some raised voices from shoppers disgruntled by a lack of supply, police said.
