The Sacramento Police Department urges the community to be on the alert for two robbery suspects.
About 7:25 p.m. Saturday, the victim left his vehicle and was approaching the door of a residence in the 5100 block of Fredericksburg Way in North Natomas. He turned around when he heard footsteps and was confronted by two men.
The suspects, one armed with a gun, demanded money. The victim threw his wallet on the ground, and the suspects grabbed it and ran away, according to a Police Department news release.
Both suspects were described as African American, and 18 or 19 years old. One was described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, skinny, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other, who was armed with a gun, was said to be between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 150 pounds, skinny, with a dark complexion.
They drove off in a Nissan Maxima or an Infiniti sedan with tinted windows.
Police said they don't know whether the robbery is connected to a homicide that occurred later that night. In both cases, victims were contacted by two suspects in residential areas.
Residents in the area are asked to check their home surveillance video to see whether it shows suspicious activity or anyone matching the suspects' descriptions.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357, or text a tip to 274637. Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
