Woman hit by truck in Davis dies from injuries

A 25-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Davis has died.

Megan Glanville was crossing Russell Boulevard on foot when she was hit by a pickup truck.

Glanville, who police said is from Chico but was living in Davis, suffered severe injuries including head trauma. She was taken by ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center, where she died of her injuries late this morning, according to a Davis Police Department news release.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, but they say heavy morning fog may have played a role. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
