The Air Force confirmed today that one of the men booked in the homicide of a Marysville man over the weekend was a Beale AFB airman.
Shortly after the shooting, police arrested William Vincent Silliman Jr., 21, for conspiracy to commit homicide. Airman 1st Class Silliman is part of the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
"This event is tragic, and, if the allegations are true, then this is not an accurate reflection of the outstanding airmen serving here and around the world," stated Brig. Gen. Paul H. McGillicuddy, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander in a press release. "We take pride in the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do. We are working cooperatively with local law enforcement agencies to carry out the investigation."
Still being sought is the alleged shooter, 32-year-old Marcus Nelson Hume of Marysville. Five others were arrested Saturday and early Sunday in connection with the shooting of 38-year-old Steven Andrew Moore in a residential neighborhood in east Marysville.
