robberysuspect.bmpDavis police say they believe the Dec. 20 robbery of a U.S. Bank in Davis is part of a series bank robberies in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Valley.

Based on similar suspect descriptions, officers believe the same suspect is responsible for robberies at eight U.S. Bank branches between Sept. 1 and Dec. 22.

The robberies occurred Sept. 1 in South San Francisco, Oct. 12 in Fremont, Oct. 19 in Cupertino, Oct. 24 in Los Altos and Sunnyvale, Dec. 20 in Elk Grove and Davis, and Dec. 22 in Redwood City.

In each case, the suspect (pictured) presented a note but did not display any weapons, according to a Davis Police Department news release.

U.S. Bank is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

Police ask anyone with information leading to the identity of the man pictured in the surveillance photo to call the Davis Police Department, (530) 747-5400; Sacramento FBI Field Office, (916) 481-9110; San Francisco FBI Field Office, (415) 553-7400; or U.S. Bank Security Hotline, (800) 685-5515.
