One man arrested, two sought in vandalism of Linda home

One man was arrested and two others are being sought in connection a domestic dispute in the Yuba County community of Linda that officials said turned into an rock- and brick-throwing confrontation.

Deputies responded to the 5700 block of Riverside Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Monday regarding a large fight. An investigation revealed that Marcelino Sumait, 31, of Linda had gone to the Riverside residence with a few of his friends to confront his ex-girlfriend, according to a Yuba County Sheriff's Department news release.The men allegedly began breaking out the windows of the home using a stick, bricks and rocks.

During the disturbance, one of the men, later identified as James T. Mims, 19, of Linda, allegedly threw a brick through one of the windows, striking a 14-year-old boy inside the house in the arm. The boy was not injured.

Deputies found and arrested a third man, Richard Sumait, 20, of Linda. He was booked into Yuba County Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism. Mims and Marcelino Sumait are being sought in connection with the incident.

Officials said damage to the home was estimated at $1,500.
