A 22-year-old woman delivering pizza in the Yuba County community of Linda fought off two men who allegedly tried to rob her Tuesday night.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, the woman was delivering pizza to an apartment in the 6000 block of Alberta Avenue about 9 p.m. when she was accosted by two men.
When the woman refused a demand for money, one of the men shoved her and again demanded money. The woman instead punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
The woman ran as the second man chased her. She was able to reach her vehicle, drive away and call authorities.
Deputies responded to the Alberta Avenue area but were unable to locate the suspects.
The woman was not injured and no money was taken.
The suspects were described as white men in their mid to late 20s, with medium builds. One was described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall with facial stubble, wearing a black beanie with a small brim and a black hooded sweatshirt. The other man was said to be about 6 feet tall, and wore a black pullover, hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff's Department at (530) 749-7777.
