The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the apparent murder of 53-year-old David Pare and is asking the public's help for information.
According to the department, on Friday around 9 a.m., police received a call requesting a welfare check at a business in the 6200 block of Sky Creek Drive in North Sacramento. Officers were advised that Pare and a 29-year-old suspect, Adam Gordon, had been in a physical altercation the previous evening.
Both men knew each other and it was believed that Pare was injured. When officers checked inside the business, they discovered the victim deceased and the suspect gone. It appeared the victim had not died of natural causes.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene, where it was determined the victim's vehicle was missing. Later that afternoon, police received a call from family members in Reno advising Gordon was at their home. Reno Police Department officers responded and located the suspect driving the victim's vehicle on a highway. Gordon was pulled over and taken into custody. At this time, Sacramento police officials are awaiting Gordon's extradition to California.
The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information about this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
