Suspected drunken driver plows into Folsom bowling alley patio

Five people were injured and the driver arrested when a car barreled through a bar patio at a Folsom bowling alley early this morning.

Tera Lee Nicholson, 41, of Folsom was arrested at the scene for suspicion of drunken driving causing major injury.

Folsom police and firefighters were called to Folsom Lake Bowl on East Bidwell Street about 12:30 a.m. today where a vehicle had crashed through a wrought iron fence and into a patio containing patrons of the bar.

When officers and firefighters arrived they found five people who were hurt. None of the injuries were considered critical, according to a police press release.

The venerable Lake Bowl, a mainstay on East Bidwell for more than 40 years, is a combination bowling alley, bar and casino. The patio, where smokers go for a cigarette, extends off the bar.
