A third suspect in the 2007 shooting deaths of Sean Aquitania and his infant son was arrested this morning in San Mateo.
Christopher Strong (pictured), 28, was taken into custody at his residence about 10 a.m. and was booked this afternoon into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of murder, burglary and attempted robbery. He is being held without bail.
Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said this is last of the suspects that had been sought, although anyone with additional information about the case is still encouraged to call Detective Brian Meux at (916) 874-8486.
At 1:57 p.m. Sept. 14, 2007, deputies responded to a call of a injured baby at the corner of Country Greens Court and Frist Draw Way in south Sacramento. They found the 8-month-old infant, later identified as Sean Aquitania Jr., buckled in his car seat with a gunshot wound to the head. The baby was transported to a hospital where he died.
At a residence in the 8400 block of Country Greens Court, deputies found the baby's 21-year-old father, Sean Aquitania, who had suffered two gunshot wounds to his upper body and died at the scene.
Investigators believe that Aquitania and his son walked into a home invasion in progress.
Two other suspects, Donald Ortez-Lucero, 27, and Richard Noguera, 34, were arrested in the case in October. Ortez-Lucero was arrested in Oakland Oct. 10, and Noguera was taken into custody in Sacramento on Oct. 14.
Officials said Strong matches the description of the third suspect as African American, with a round face and stocky build.
