Man found dead after shooting reported in south Sacramento

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies are canvassing a south Sacramento neighborhood following a fatal shooting.

Deputy Jason Ramos said numerous calls were received shortly before 7 p.m. reporting 10 to 15 shots fired in the 8100 block of Ingleside Way.

No one reported seeing suspects or vehicles in the area, but one woman looked out her window and saw a man lying in the driveway next to a vehicle across the street. Ramos said deputies found the body of a 40-year-old man who had been shot multiple times in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one was in the home on the property where the body was found and it has not be determined whether the man lived there, Ramos said.

He said deputies are going door to door in the neighborhood seeking information about the shooting.
