Nevada County coroner releases name of stabbing victim

Nevada County coroner's officials today released the name of a man stabbed to death at a party that went awry.

He was identified as Ryan Roth, 33, of Lake of the Pines.

Nevada County dispatchers were called about 12:30 a.m. Thursday regarding a disturbance in the 11000 block of Lake Shore North in the community of Lake of the Pines. Later, 911 calls alerted deputies responding to the scene that there had been a stabbing.

Once deputies arrived they found Roth dead from stab wounds. Motive for the stabbing has not been released.

Deputies said that the suspect in the killing, Brandon Riddle-Terrel, 24, of Petaluma, fled from the party in a vehicle before being taken into custody in Sacramento County.
