Witnesses, broken-down car foil Sacramento burglary suspect

Sacramento police arrested a 17-year-old burglary suspect Tuesday after a pair of alert witnesses called in reports of suspicious behavior.

Police first took a call from the 2500 block of Marty Way in Land Park around 1:45 p.m.

The caller reported suspects running from a home, carrying electronic equipment.

While officers were responding, another call came in, reporting a cream colored sedan in the roadway at Sutterville Road and Freeport Boulevard.

The caller said two people from the car were stashing electronic equipment in the bushes at the shopping center there.

Officers found the car, which had broken down, and stopped the driver.

They found the electronics in the bushes and were able to return them to the Marty Way owner of the stolen goods.

The driver, a juvenile, was arrested but the second suspect was not located.
