Citrus Heights resident knifed by suspect

A man in Citrus Heights was the victim of a knife attack this morning following a confrontation outside his home.

Police said the 32-year-old Citrus Heights resident went out of his home in the 6400 block of Denton Way about 7 a.m. Thursday and was confronted by and man. The two exchanged words and the unarmed resident was cut or stabbed with the knife on his face and body.

The suspect fled on foot with the victim giving chase. His pursuit was halted due to his injuries.

He was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition. The victim is providing detectives with more information.

Police did yet release a description of the suspect or say why the suspect confronted the resident.
