Missing man found dead in vehicle in Antelope area

A 54-year-old man who had been missing for a week was found dead early Wednesday morning.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department issued a news release Tuesday night seeking the public's help locating John McDonald, who had been last seen at his place of employment in North Natomas on March 14.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said a citizen spotted McDonald's vehicle about 3 a.m. Wednesday in a supermarket parking lot at Walerga and Elverta roads in the Antelope area and reported a man was inside.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office listed cause of death as undetermined. Ramos said there was no evidence to indicate McDonald was a crime victim and the Sheriff's Department is not investigating the death.
