One dead, three injured in Highway 49 crash in Yuba County

One person died and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 near Marysville Road in Yuba County this evening.

Officer Jeff Pingree of the California Highway Patrol said investigators were still on the scene and few details were available.

He said the crash occurred about 6:15 p.m., and the person who died was an Idaho resident.

Pingree said the injured were taken by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville.

Marysville Road at Highway 49 was closed in both directions for about an hour, reopening shortly after 8 p.m.
