DUI suspected in fatal crash involving Olivehurst, Marysville teens

A 16-year-old Olivehurst boy was killed early today when the car in which he was a passenger overturned after going off the road in West Linda, striking a pole and a parked vehicle, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The car's driver, another 16-year-old, from Marysville, was arrested in connection with the crash.

No identities were released because of their ages.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. today, when the 2003 Mitsubishi failed to make a curve on Feather River Boulevard, south of Riverside Drive because of high speed.

The driver and two rear-seat passengers, a 16- and a 14-year-old boy, had moderate to major injuries, but the right front seat passenger suffered fatal injuries.

All the occupants were wearing restraints, but alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the collision report.
