Sex offender registrant arrested at Starbucks after report of porn on screen

photo (1).JPGSacramento police arrested a man after they were called to a downtown Starbucks on Monday when an employee reported a customer was viewing child pornography on his laptop computer.

Police said that it was also reported that offending images on the laptop screen were visible to other patrons, according to a police activity log.

When officers responded to the coffeehouse near the train station at Fifth and I streets they discovered that the patron, Louis Mendonsa, 49, was a sex offender registrant, police said.

Officers did not observe child pornography on Mendonsa's laptop screen. The computer was seized and Mendonsa was arrested.

He was arrested on suspicion of violating parole.
