Arrest reported in series of Rancho Cordova robberies

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a recent series of robberies in Rancho Cordova.

Xavier Lomba, 19, was taken into custody this morning at his Rancho Cordova home and booked into Sacramento County Jail, according to a Rancho Cordova Police Department news release. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

He is accused of six robberies. The first occurred May 17 at the Chevron gas station at 2358 Sunrise Blvd. and the most recent was reported Sunday at CVS Pharmacy at 3301 Zinfandel Drive. The other robberies occurred May 22 at that Subway sandwich shop, 3581 Mather Field Road, and at the Liquor and Food store, 10401 Folsom Blvd.; May 29 at the Wienerschnitzel restaurant, 11070 Coloma Road; and June 6 at the Pizza Guys restaurant, 2351 Vehicle Drive.

After identifying Lomba as a possible suspect , detectives served a search warrant that resulted in the recovery of evidence implicating Lomba in the robberies, officials said.

Because the investigation is continuing, authorities have not released a photo of Lomba.
