Submitted by: Anonymous, Sacramento

ANSWER: Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured as they attempted to cross Norwood Avenue at Morey Avenue in the Del Paso Heights area about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5, 1988.

According to accounts in The Bee, Laveria Javius and La Tanyia Francis, both 16, were struck by a vehicle that was northbound on Norwood. A second vehicle came up behind the first car and hit Willie Wesson, 15, dragging him about 600 feet before speeding off.

Javius died at the scene and Wesson died later at UC Davis Medical Center. Francis survived.

Police said at the time that no charges were filed against the driver of the first vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle -- described as a brown, four-door sedan -- was sought for felony hit and run.
