Citrus Heights police seek to identify the suspect (pictured) in an armed robbery that occurred this afternoon at the Bank of the West.
Police were called to the bank at 7381 Greenback Lane shortly before 3:30 p.m. They were told that a man entered the bank and approached a teller. He brandished a firearm and demanded cash. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he left on foot and was last seen heading north toward Sylvan Road, according to a Police Department news release.
The man was described as 30 to 35 years old, with a medium build and a small tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with green and black writing on it and a long -sleeve white undershirt with black designs on both sleeves. He was reportedly wearing a black beret-style hat.
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. Detectives are continuing the investigation and following up on leads, officials said.
