DEA agents raid Sacramento pot shop

By Ed Fletcher

Federal authorities have confirmed that they have executed a search of a Sacramento medical marijuana dispensary today.

Phone calls to the location, El Camino Wellness, 2511 Connie Dr., were not being answered as of midday Monday.

Casey Rettig, a spokeswoman for the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, said she could not talk about the situation other than to confirm the early morning execution of a search warrant.

In recent months, California medical marijuana advocates have been crying foul over federal raids on dispensaries.

California's four U.S. attorneys announced last year that they were targeting medical marijuana businesses that they saw as operating in violation of federal and state laws.
